More about Priessnitz Walking (PW)

Priessnitz Walking in practise

The first part of Priessnitz Walking (PW) is Nordic Walking (NW). It is walking with special poles

that enables the upper part of the body (i.e. respiratory intercostal muscles, neck muscles) to release.

Walking with poles protects lower limb joints and creates a beautiful, smooth and easy stride. The advantage of this method of walking is that it is interesting both for athletes and people who are  just beginning. After warming up by walking comes the cooling of the upper extremities in pure forest streams and rivulets. The program continues with walking in order to raise the body's temperature again. This walking is followed by stretching muscles and special breathing exercises. These simple exercises based on yoga. Deepening of the breath increases lung capacity, changes muscle pH from acidic to alkaline thus flushing lactic acid. This causes muscle relaxation and relieves spinal pain. Before cooling the lower limbs, the body is again heated by walking. After cooling comes the release of the lower limbs, warmth and lightness.

The whole two-hour program has a very beneficial effect on the human psyche :-)

What is the impact of these activities on the human body?
